PACE is the creation of The Edmonton Awareness Group (EAG) that was established to make  Edmonton voters aware of some of the shortcomings of the current Council and promote voting for candidates with a commitment to fiscal responsibility, economic growth and common-sense principles.  EAG has established a corporate entity with a President and Board to act as the legal structure for the initial organizing, fund raising and operations of this effort.  Once the province has established the formal rules and regulations regarding municipal parties EAG  will transition to PACE, a fully operational political party, with a formal structure, officers, governance,  processes, personnel and accountability. In the meantime, PACE will continue to organize, raise funds,  engage talent, build operational capacity and develop communications tools. 

Our party's proposed name, PACE, gives a clear indication of what we stand for. We are founding a Principled, Accountable Coalition for Edmonton. We favor lower taxes, smaller government, simple  regulations, realistic budgets and a free market economy. PACE emphasizes a fiscally prudent, business-friendly, growth-oriented, enterprise literate, community focused, common-sense, practical approach to problem solving and the management of city affairs.  A political party that adheres to those principles will attract a coalition of voters, candidates, volunteers,  supporters and donors. We believe a Council dedicated to these foundational basics will produce better decisions, smarter policies and more favorable outcomes for the people of Edmonton. 

PACE will identify, recruit and support candidates for City Council who endorse the principles and policies that form the foundation of our political movement. To that end we are assembling a strong  team of individuals who are dedicated to making this effort a success, demonstrating a commitment to creating the political machinery necessary to achieve electoral success.
